Our Mission

The Liberty Hill Improvement Council created an Education Endowment Fund established with a mission to increase the literacy rate of students reading below their grade level in the Liberty Hill Community. In order to ensure success, an afterschool literacy program has been implemented in conjunction with Hursey Elementary School K-5. Eligibility to participate in the program will be confined to those students identified as reading below grade level that reside in the Liberty Hill Community.

Our Vision

The Education Endowment Fund was established to assist the Charleston County School District with its goal of eradicating illiteracy among students that attend public schools in Charleston County. We will accomplish this goal by working with the elementary schools to ensure that we are reinforcing methods and instructions that are being taught during the school day with those students enrolled in the Liberty Hill Improvement Council Afterschool Literacy Program.quote
